Please help us collect video games and DVDs! You can do this no matter where you live. We will be selling them at a garage sale on August 7th from 9am to 11am. The money from this sale will go towards building a children’s room in a hospital in India. We will stock the room with toys, games, video games, and more!

-	Schools out! We have many summer opportunities. If anyone is interested in writing grants, please let us know! The deadlines are coming up.

-	Risha was featured in OC Family magazine’s June issue as one of the most influential teens. Check it out here.

-	Our volunteer party was a hit! Thank you so much to everyone who came to this event, and La Jolla for sponsoring this event. Everyone had fun dancing, and KWCF got to thank our amazing volunteers! Don’t forget to go back and shop!
We gave out some great awards to some great people. Check it out!
Kim Gale: Volunteer Coordinator
Kim is known as the lady with a HUGE HEART! There is not one word to describe Kim. She is kind, compassionate and a dedicated perfectionist! She has gone through several medical challenges this year, however, she continues to help us make all our events success by coordinating with all our dedicated volunteers and taking care of all the administrative work. She is our stage manager behind the scenes. Kim, thank you for making a big difference!

Natasha Karamally and Divya Asuri: Northwood High School Co-Presidents
This award is for starting a Kids Who Care Club at their school and doing various activities such as fund raising, making smile packs and creating a puppet show for the Traveling Variety Show. Both of you have shown great leadership, recruited and directed many students at your school, and through it all, managed to stay on top at high school. We applaud your hard work and dedication to KWCF.

Sarah Figuroa and Carson Driscoll: Rancho Santa Margarita High School Co-Presidents
Sarah and Carson are also awarded the leadership award for starting a club at your high school, fund raising and recruiting other teens at your school to help enhance KWCF. Your leadership has inspired other teens to make a difference, and you have helped KWCF by spreading our message. You do not disappoint when given a task. Thank you for your hard work.

Varuska Patni: Youth Ambassador
Varuska has done an excellent job as a youth ambassador.
Varuska contacted various after school programs in Irvine and Tustin and spoke to them about KWCF. She showed students to be more caring and compassionate by making cheer up cards for kids in the hospital, and helped each of them build their character, all the while having a good time. Varuska has developed many leadership skills throughout the last year and is always enthusiastic about taking on any new project KWCF has to offer. She helped by learning how to write grants, doing admin work and helping set up at fund raising events. Through her dedication, Varuska also helped launch the beginning of a Kids Who Care Club at the Tustin Boys and Girls Club facility. She has spoken to over 400 children at 11 after school programs, and has gotten 350 cheer up cards made. Varuska has truly done it all when it comes to Kids who Care.

Priyal Shah: Administrative Assistant
Priyal has been involved with KWCF since it's inception. She has spent hours helping Kim to organize and reply back with a personal email to each and every on of our volunteers, in order to accommodate their needs. Just like her sister Kunali, Priyal never says no to any work assigned and does it diligently with a hat on her head. Priyal thank you for making a difference!

Nicole Michaelson
Nicole is friendly to everyone and has a passion for making
an difference in the world, no matter the cause. She is very persuasive in getting donations for KWCF events, and has worked long hours on creating videos, organizing photos, managing Facebook, and helping at many other KWCF events. Thank you for your dedication and hard work. You are a true volunteer.

Alpha Phi omega at UCI
The Alphi Phi Omega fraternity at UCI has been a proud
supporter of KWCF for the last 4 years. They do a fantastic job in not only putting the smile packs together but also raising funds. Every year, without fail, their president contacts us and they donate an entire week to us for National Global Youth Service Day. A special thank you to Paul for organizing the events this year. Your fraternity is amazing and they truly make a difference.

Rhea Shukla: Youth Ambassador
Rhea gave her first speech to 500 students at Stonegate Elementary and started a week long drive for DVDs and Video games. Her speech was full of passion and very inspirational, her sense of caring and compassion flowing through every word. Rhea is following her sister, Risha's, footsteps, and is so proud of her, as we are. So far, Rhea has spoken to over 850 students, and got over 550 cards made. Rhea, thank you for making a difference and always helping out.

Beth Vance
Mrs. Vance makes amazing cheer up cards. Her cards are
really beautiful and we at KWCF just love them. She has
been supporting KWCF for a few years by not only getting cards made at her church and at school, but also helps KWCF with their biggest need: finding a facility to hold KWCF events. Mrs. Vance thank you so much for caring and making a difference in the community!

Certificates:

The following NHS club members: Paige Dow, Kimberly Wang, Megan Ong, Nina Madison, Mona Sleiman, and Diana Patin. Thank you!

Marissa Torres
Marissa jumped into joining KWCF and was able to obtain $1000 in jewelry donation from Cookie Lee to help raise funds. She also showed her leadership by speaking at after school programs in the La Palma and Fullerton area and had the kids make several cards. Thank you Marissa for your dedication.

Girl Scout Troop 734
Thank you to troop leader Jennifer Pinter and her troop for making 300 activity booklets for kids in the hospital. Thank you to all the girls for all the hard work and creativity for this project. They even helped make card quilts! Troop 734, way to go!

Renee LaVelle
Renee continues to cheer up children with her incredible Irish dance with the Traveling Variety Show. Renee is enthusiastic and always ready to give a helping hand whenever needed with her beautiful talent. She is always accommodating to whenever we are short on an act. Renee is a kind and friendly person. Contact us if you are interested in helping us out.

We are very proud to announce that Dr. David Sutherland will be joining us on our board.

Risha started off the month by going to Washington D.C. for her award.
-- I had the most amazing time in Washington D.C. I got to meet so many amazing people, including Dr. Condoleezza Rice, the California state senators, and other dignitaries. I also meet 102 other amazing state honorees who make a difference in this world. Everybody was so nice, and everybody made you feel like you were a celebrity. Many people were asking about my pictures! Click here to see some pictures from my trip...

On April 24, we had our Traveling Variety Show performed to United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County. Our volunteers had a fun time cheering up the kids, and we were a big hit!

On National Global Youth Service Day, Alpha Phi Omega dedicated an entire day to making cards and raising funds for us. We are very grateful for their continuos help every year, and they have one of our biggest supporters. Thank you!
