Thank you for your interest in the Kids Who Care Foundation.  This is a special organization where you will be able to make a difference in the lives of children who have chronic medical conditions all across the country.  We need people like you to move our foundation forward, and we are grateful for your expressed interest.  Please select from below the category that best represents your interest.  Underneath each category, will be the steps to follow in order to begin your work with us.  This foundation is volunteer based and we all work out of our own homes.  You do not have to be living locally in Orange County to be part of this foundation.  You can be living anywhere in the country and can start helping us in the areas that interest you.

Choose the role that best fits your interest and time:

1.  Manager of Parties
Manage the organization of the party every 2 months.  The party is normally held on Saturday from 10a.m.-12.30pm at a location in Irvine including parks.  However, the party can be held anywhere, even out of state!  Contact participants, contact businesses to donate supplies/snacks and do a press release of that event in the local paper. All events are open to all.   Find sponsors to arrange a party in their area.  They can make the cards at their location and make the card quilts and drop it off or mail to Postal Annex in Tustin Market Place.  Normally, the little ones make cards, older kids help put the cards together in the quilt form, play games and finish off with an ice cream sundae!  Oversee the party from start to finish.  If you are organizing, then you will need at least 2-3 people to help you.

2. Director in Your City
C
ontact school districts, school principals, PTA Presidents, Student Body Advisors, After School Program Directors, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, the National Charity League, Sunday schools and Community Leaders and Businesses.  Set up a program with them where they can make card quilts every month for us towards community service.  Have businesses or individuals sponsor the event.  Email/call them once a month to see how the program is running and assist them with whatever they need.  You may need to go and give them a presentation or meet them for the first time so that they know exactly what we do.

3. Media Relations Manager
Call the local city newspapers, T.V. stations, radio stations and magazines to inform them of special events, parties that are happening, fund raising events, etc. that may be happening with the Kids Who Care Foundation.  You will be responsible for doing the write up and emailing the press releases and PSA.

4. Social Worker Liaison
Contact social workers and child life specialist at hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses to procure the names of children that could use a quilt card.  Establish a relationship with them and have a monthly contact with them.  Arrange events at Ronald McDonald Houses every 3 months like movie night, bingo night, dinner, and craft night.  Contact businesses or individuals to donate supplies and snacks. Give out card quilts to kids staying at the RMH.

 5.  Computer Programmer
Need a computer programmer to help us with our programming needs.

6. Website Designer/Graphic Designer
Web Designer will help with updating the site and help us design pages for the slide show , calendar, photo gallery and flyers.
